The Future of Video Games VR Experience in Manchester
2 February - 2 March£4 - £12
The Future of Video Games is the ultimate virtual reality video game experience in Manchester!
40 years ago – Space Invaders invaded a new social space called ‘the arcade’, and this space would exist for around 20 years before it started to decline, as arcade quality graphics on the first Playstation and then as the internet took video games away from being a social activity in the physical sense, to becoming a singular Internet connected home entertainment experience. But like the current record revival of the past few years, seeing vinyl sales break records, arcades too are back; and they have something new to offer! Something that the home experience simply can not!
Welcome to the pop up event the ‘Future of Video Games’ – a new pop up virtual reality arcade in Manchester, launching at the same time as Steven Spielberg’s epic new film about VR ‘Ready Player One‘.
The ‘Future of Video Games’ is a curated VR event, with 4 unique experiences lasting between 10 and 20 minutes each on the Playstation VR and Vive platforms, and is also the first independent arcade to offer the ‘pay for all the VR’ you can play model.
Attention to detail at this event is also paramount and the space is not just bolting on VR as a gimmick, but taking the art of immersion as a craft and also treating the art of immersion as an important part of the VR experience – so gone are the noisy arcades and distractions, at this event, only 14 people can take part in each session and the sessions are led by an experienced VR Host, who is there to guide you through the various VR experiences, and help you enjoy tomorrows video games experiences today.

How does it work?
We have a variety of timed slots that run throughout the day. Each session is for ADVANCE BOOKING only, each session lasts for 3 hours and holds 14 people – you can book out an entire session if you like just to yourself (e-mail us to do this), or share the session with other virtual reality explorers. We also have tickets for non VR players, but to take part in the VR, you will need a full price explorer ticket.
During your 3 hours you will be introduced to a variety of VR experiences. For the up to date list of experiences, please see our facebook page.
Each month we will have a curated selection of the best new VR and Video Game experiences on the HTC Vive and Playstation VR.
For our HTC experiences we have a custom built VR performance area, designed by light! For the Playstation VR experiences, we are using the latest haptic rigs to totally immerse the player in the game!
How much VR will I get to play and what happens while I wait my turn?
We have designed the experience so that each VR explorer will get the chance to go on everything, maybe twice! Each VR game and experience will last between 10-20 minutes, and any downtime can be spent in our cool Future of Video Games cafe, where we have Nintendo Switch Mario Kart ( (2 player), Xbox One with FIFA 18 (2 player) and a SNES mini with over 30 classic video games + more announced soon.
Why is each session limited to just a few people?
We firmly believe that virtual reality should be a relaxed and fun experience and we think it’s cinema, video gaming and theatre experience combined, and so with this in mind, each session is limited to 14 people. Each session lasts for 3 hours and each session has a VR Host on hand to look after you. We have a small licensed cafe serving tea, coffee and soft drinks, and in the evenings we also have a selection of craft beer on sale, alongside snacks and our world famous pick n mix range!
So you could be a first time VR explorer, or you could be a VR veteran – our host’s are their for everyone! If you have any questions, please message us via our Facebook page.
